Earlier this week, Clark County School District Superintendent Dwight Jones announced the Reclaim Your Future program, in which mentors from the community are paired with high school students to help raise the graduation rate.
CCSD is partnering with the United Way, Workforce Connections, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, and Vegas Young Professionals to round up volunteer mentors. If you'd like to get involved, check out the website, download the application, complete the application online or contact Debbie Tomasetti, Project Manager at 799-6560 or dtomasetti@interact.ccsd.net.
DETAILS OF THE PROJECT:
Commitment
Mentors are asked to make a commitment to serve as a mentor for one hour each week for one school year. Regardless of when the volunteer begins mentoring, a commitment must be made to mentor the assigned student during the remaining school year. The mentor will meet with the mentor one hour each week.
Age Requirements
Volunteers should be at least 25 years of age to participate in the Reclaim Your Future Mentoring Project. However, volunteers less than 25 years of age that possess maturity and shareable life experiences will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the Project Manager at 702-799-6560.
