I had this EXACT conversation with someone today while watching the UNLV Rebels game (who, I might add, won 69 to 57 against Wyoming).  People who don't live in this city of lights, or sin city as others call it, have so many beliefs about Vegas and the people who live here...I know this might shock you but: It's a real city full of real people who do real things!

Las Vegas is home to over 600,000 people (according to the 2013 US Census Bureau).  We are like any other city...we simply have the option of being on the strip every day (if we so choose).  We don't all work and party on the strip...in fact, the strip sometimes becomes an obstacle when we need to get somewhere quick.  Some of the BEST restaurants and experiences are nowhere near the strip...our city is FULL of NATURAL BEAUTY...I'm talking about the mountains, the lakes, the desert, city parks and absolutely breathtaking sunsets.  There's more to us than bright lights, nightlife and strip clubs.  Oh, and we don't live in hotels...we own real homes and pay mortgages and send our children to real schools (public and private options available)...

And what's amazing and MOST attractive about this beautiful city is that it's in the state of Nevada...and well, Nevada is proud to have the lowest overall tax rate of any state in the nation.  NO state income, inheritance, gift or estate, franchise, inventory or corporate taxes are levied.  Nevada leaves your money where it belongs...in your pocket.

We had approximately 3.4 million people visit Vegas in January 2015, according to an article by Vegas Inc. magazine.  And, it's no wonder...Las Vegas is the King of Conventions, 20 consecutive years as North America's Top Convention Destination...there's 10.8 million square feet of meeting, exhibit and trade show space citywide.  Vegas offers a variety of hotel and motel rooms, over 150,000 rooms actually.  Need a reason to come to Vegas?  Need to be able to call it a business expense?  Try and find a relevant convention in town by checking out our convention calendar.  I'm sure there's something work related in there.
